Frankeinstein and Romanticism
The book Frankenstein is about the emotions and feelings of Victor Frankenstein. Emotion is strongly connected to Romanticism. Victor says he had made a mistake in creating a monster and now that the creature has come alive, he has become physically and mentally ill. His friend realizes how sick his friend truly is. Frankensteins mind is overflown with madness and this is why his emotions are running wild. He no longer knows what to do with himself. He only knows that he needs to get away from his creation. He has sacrificed his life to his studies and philosophies. He contradicts medical beliefs and practices. He has spent years trying to achieve what no other has and he has kept this a secret from the world. He has gone into a sense of independent thinking which is also related to romanticism. He has learned from others, but he has chosen to take his own path. He listens to no one. His family and friends in Geneva want him to write, but he refuses so that he can focus on his studies. He is expressing himself through his studies. He spends every second of the day figuring out how to attach body pieces that he got from the grave yard. In this book, Shelley connects many references to nature.
